Many years of experience has shown important clinical and prognostic value of mammographic screening programs for increasing the proportion of carcinoma in situ and breast cancer stage I, which led to significant improvement in the long-term survival. The review presents the main stages of the screening programs, differences in the organization of screening in different countries, and also gives the definition of «screening age,» high-risk factors for breast cancer appearing and possible intensification of early detection programs. The existing screening methods have described, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as highlighted possible areas for screening programs.</p>
Дано подробное описание существующих методов скрининга, их преимущества и недостатки, а также выделены возможные направления развития скрининговых программ.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>breast cancer screening</kwd><kwd>mammography</kwd><kwd>ultrasonography</kwd><kwd>MR breast imaging</kwd><kwd>screening age</kwd><kwd>risk factors for breast cancer</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>скрининг рака молочной железы</kwd><kwd>маммография</kwd><kwd>УЗИ</kwd><kwd>МРТ молочных желез</kwd><kwd>понятие «скринингового возраста»</kwd><kwd>факторы риска развития рака молочной железы</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Thomas B.A., Price J.L., Boulter P.S., Gibbs N.M.
